Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of a Commonwealth country (or hold refugee status in the Commonwealth)
  • Available to start academic studies in the UK or remotely by the start of September 2022
  • Permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree at the time of applying
  • No age restrictions
  • Not studied before in other European countries

Application Process:

  1. List all undergraduate and postgraduate university qualifications obtained
  2. List up to 10 publications and prizes
  3. Provide details of employment history and its relevance to the proposed Scholarship
  4. Provide a statement on the relevance of previous work experience to the proposed Scholarship
  5. List names and positions of three referees qualified to comment on the candidate’s capacity to benefit from the Scholarship and deliver development impact
  6. Provide a Development Impact statement in 4 parts.

The Development Impact statement should explain:

  1. How the proposed Scholarship relates to global, national, and local development issues
  2. How the candidate intends to apply new skills and qualifications after returning home
  3. Expected changes in development terms following the Scholarship
  4. How the impact of the candidate’s work could be best measured
  5. Provide a personal statement summarizing the candidate’s background and contributions, engagement in voluntary activities, and leadership opportunities

Selection Criteria:
